Too many of the world's cultures have a flaw, this flaw is a complex web of where actual reality meets a deformed and deforming memetic code of prohibition, perversion of possible natural feelings, and where art and commerce display versions of an unbalanced human vanity and human nature.
When I was a young child I got in trouble for hiding in my room a magazine of naked women posing sexually, this 'pouring of hot coals upon my head' about something sexual that made me feel - if not good - quite different enough to be some kind of a pleasure, making me feel some kind of immature visual-chemical response, the rebuke and trouble I got in to for this led to a confusion that only ended in my late 20's/early 30's, and to be honest still has legacy feeling even today.
Why does so much of our culture have such a Vaudevillian, "oh naughty naughty", "not now Vicar" view of of the nude, sexuality and the certain natural processes; there are the stories of the so called 'sky/star lords' or 'gods', a higher power who were prohibitive to perhaps then uncontrolled sexual urges and acts.
Why must the naked human form have this baggage of prohibition and restrictivness, why should parts of the body which all have their very necessary biological functions and processes to undertake be distorted into empty memes of a virtual sensual decree; were primitive humans so much engaged in sexual activity it was holding back certain civilisation's progress? Were the gods burning with envy at an unashamed sexual state?
With all thier naked street life, statuary, and sports, were the ancient Greeks existing in a permanent ambient state of arousal? What was their web of reaction to the nude in person and in art? Is arousal inheirant with nudity or is it a learnt memetic detour from who knows what feelings? To a baby's clean slate mind, being nude quickly becomes neurally attached to feeding, toilet/bathing, and the intimate warmpth of close human contact, in what order of want exactly?
What pressures our clothed versus unclothed schisms creates? For the paler skinned amoungst us, whom many live in a climate unsuited to thier skins protective properties, nudity is limited and when non limited, much skin damage and ill-health results.
The child nude in life and art, really is currently a controversial nuisance (circa 2011); with their minimalist sexuality, though not without some connections to an adult's sexuality, the juven form is lovely in it's gender quiteness and usually unblemished petitness; though some may feel innapropriate desires due to some legacy of misuse and untruth in regard to sexual connection of the juven form to the mature form, neurally and of memory, and of meme. Discard the abuse and superficiality in our sexual connectivity of mind and the outside. Not to be lessening to children, they do have a neural structuring process taking place, and all care must be taken in regards to a childs coming to know mature reproductive poses and states, that they be taken seriously and non confused with some of the adult world's more baser and/or paraphilliac gratifications. Keep children away as much as possible from all that is illegal, exploitative, and unfair in regards to sexuality, but be ready to define and clear up such matters if they should arise.
There is a natural and just sexuality in appreciation of the juven and the mature ripe nude as it is in art and life, it is an appreciation of truth rather than an appreciation of such things as lust and lust's layers of psychic debris accumulated over time in a decadent and corrupting visually abusive culture. I choose a rational logical sexual truth over base desireous heat any day, though I cannot deny the chemicals realised and felt when the nude presents itself, is this a fusion of infant feelings with more mature learnings, is it meme over real feelings? I pray for a rational subdueing of base desire, but is it possible in my case, or in any case?
We have constructed over a long period of interelated time a problem of unhealthy sexual thought and acts, or are we just tilting at windmills; is this percieved problem just an illusion, do we have the power to change.
Like with Cannabis, the nude has yet to reach a universal consensus on it's values and effects; what baggage we travel with and is revealed with regard to the nude and for that matter with Cannabis. Oh how the unconscious writhes and trembles with these matters, and much fruit can be gathered.
What strange and awful memes can exist with nude photography (circa 2011), with the photography of the child nude being the most controversial of all? For me the child nude is a somewhat relaxing experience, is this due to a minimal sexuality on the part of the subject posing, and my unconscious memories of being such an age? Or is it of a more dark azure water where I feel non threatened by the subject that I gaze upon, a perception of their lack of power and opinion, their percieved lack of sexual tensions? Where there is a diminished sexuality in the subject and the viewers experience, a lessening of sexual tensions occurs, a light-mindedness that itself in it's relief one may find some kind of arousal? The child nude in life and art is a tad too touchy for some, let us be patient yet strong in our clearing up of such areas of human do.
I think for me viewing the nude will always be a pleasure and a pain due to the lack of both a external and internal consensus, the lack of a pure meme for the viewers and producers of nude art and our thinking of such.
My mind reels with possible questions and possible answers on this subject, I think the problem is that there are whole lot of warped thinking people out there in regards to nudity; and I don't blame clothes either as some suggest, clothes protect our bodies from the environment, which some very much need. If the situation arises where I encounter someone whom I think is distorted about sexuality and nudity, I will simply say, "There is nothing wrong with being interested in sex and nudity, just don't become obsessed or too distracted by them", well just what do you think about that?
When next confronted by the nude in art, or in advertising, or in life, I will ask myself and maybe speak allowed aswell, "Just what am I to think and feel about this?" Let not the outside world taint or deform in any pathological way, your relationship to sexuality; and as for all these things, sexuality and the nude in life and art, patience and study will benefit a more healthy informed state of pleasure and appreciation in these realms of natural unclothed endeavour.
